Before being introduced to Make-A-Wish®, Anthony loved getting lost in the magical stories of Shrek and Toy Story, dreaming about what it would be like to meet his favorite fictional friends.
At seven years old, Anthony, who is diagnosed with neurofibromatosis, has had to endure many challenges in his young life. Because Make-A-Wish believes that every eligible child deserves their turn to experience the joys of being a kid, Anthony was granted his wish to visit the Walt Disney World®
Anthony and his family were so excited to meet Mickey and friends and leave their worries behind for a magical week. In addition to the Walt Disney World®
Resort, Anthony and his family also visited SeaWorld and Universal Studios. Anthony lit up on the Toy Story ride in Disney’s Hollywood Studios™, seeing his favorites like Woody and Buzz for the first time. After a long day in the park, Anthony and his family could relax at Give Kids the World Village, a wonderland of fun activities for kids like Anthony. The kid loved the swimming pool and nightly treats, taking advantage of all the goodies for guests. His family agreed they had all had an “awesome time” that surpassed their expectations. Anthony’s mom said the best part of the trip was “hearing my son say, ‘This is the best day of my life!’ every day of the trip.”
When Anthony and his family returned home, they brought with them more than just pictures and T-shirts. They brought back renewed hope for the future. Instead of a suitcase stuffed with souvenirs, all they needed was one smile from a happy wish kid. Anthony, inspired by his wish, is now saving up his tooth fairy money and donating it to Make-A-Wish to help make other kids’ wishes come true.
