Anthony is a kind-hearted 13-year-old who has had a tough few years. After his dad died in 2011, Anthony was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Anthony was frequently in and out of the hospital, and the only thing keeping his mind occupied was the thought that Make-A-Wish® was going to grant whatever he wished for, so he had to make it good. He finally settled on a shopping spree, which Anthony says was the best day of his life.
The day began on a sweet note when a limo pulled up, with a sign on the back reading, “Honk for Anthony’s Make-A-Wish Day.” He hopped in the limo, ready for the shopping spree extravaganza. He visited Best Buy, Finish Line, Verizon and Dick’s Sporting Goods. During his shopping spree, Anthony got an Xbox and ps4 games, an iPhone 5 with a lifeproof case, sports gear and a new laptop, which he used to write about how much he loved his wish. It was a fun-filled day of shopping for Anthony, who got whatever he wanted.
All of the shopping made Anthony hungry, so they headed to his favorite restaurant, Texas Roadhouse, for lunch. When the day was over, Anthony couldn’t stop smiling. He was eager to break into all of his new purchases and try them out. Anthony said, “I appreciate everything they did for me. I love all of the stuff I got from the Make-A-Wish team.” No one is more deserving than Anthony to receive such a special day that would take his mind off of his illness for a while and allow him to feel like a kid again. He will surely never forget this day and the way it made him feel.
