Not too many kids get the chance to walk a red carpet. But nine-year-old movie enthusiast Collin did when his wish come true for a special movie theater experience with his family and friends.
To keep his mind off of surgeries and hospital stays, Collin, diagnosed with a life-threatening gastrointestinal disorder, enjoys watching great adventure movies and snacking on a favorite recovery treat -- doughnuts. Both were part of his magical wish experience.
On his wish day, a limo whisked Collin and his family off to Cinemark Tinseltown, where paparazzi, family and friends awaited the chance to see this young Make-A-Wish star walk down the red carpet. After making his way into the movie theater in style, Collin was ready for his own private viewing of Dreamworks’ newest film, Mr. Peabody & Sherman. The movie theater was filled with laughter. Following the screening, Collin and his guests enjoyed a party complete with two of his favorite foods, pizza and doughnuts. Because of his medical condition, Collin doesn't often get to enjoy these favorite foods, but his wish day was an exception.
"It makes me feel good because I get to do a lot of stuff and he doesn't get to do a lot of stuff," Collin's older brother told the media that was present.
Collin's wish for movies didn't end that day. Cinemark Tinseltown presented Collin with a certificate for a year's worth of free movies for himself and a family member or friend. Without a doubt, Collin's day spent as a movie star and the moments shared watching movies throughout the coming year are sure to bring smiles that will brighten even the toughest of days.
"When we asked him about a wish in going to the movies, he was really excited," his mom said. "I think they pulled it off amazingly. I couldn't ask for anything more for him."
