There is no better way to begin college than with a fresh new look. Just ask 18-year-old Sidney from Springdale, PA, who got the wish of a lifetime to go on a shopping extravaganza. Make-A-Wish® knew a brand new wardrobe would be the perfect thing to help Sidney start the next chapter of his life.
The shopping spree began with some exciting purchases from both Best Buy and American Eagle. However, the highlight of Sidney's wish was a stop at Brooks Brothers. Sidney never could have imagined what would be in store for him there. The first thing Sidney saw as he walked through the door was a vibrant sign, welcoming him to the shop. Sidney was given a personal shopper who relayed great fashion tips, told him how to properly accessorize his outfits and even taught him how to tie a tie.
Sidney ended up purchasing a suit with a vest because he wanted pieces that were easy to mix and match, creating a more versatile look. Along with the suit, Sidney became the proud owner of a number of dress shirts, dress shoes, jeans, chinos, colorful socks and so much more! Everything Sidney got from Brooks Brothers was graciously donated to him by the store.
Upon looking in the mirror at his new outfit, Sidney exclaimed, “I look good!” Sidney’s new wardrobe will help give him the confidence he needs to fight his acute myeloid leukemia and tackle whatever the future may bring. Now, whenever Sidney puts one of his new items on, he will instantly be reminded of all the joy he felt on his amazing wish granting day.
