World Social Media Day

WSMD header 2017
Whether you send a tweet on Twitter, update your status on Facebook, share a photo on Instagram or upload a video to YouTube, June 30th marks the day to celebrate World Social Media Day!

Social media has greatly impacted the way we communicate with our friends, family and everyone around the world. As such, social media has also become an important part of some of our wish kids' lives. Check out these trending YouTube personality wishes:

Lyllian's Cookie Roulette with
Rhett & Link

New Lyllian

Back in November 2016, 12-year-old Lyllian of Susquehanna, PA, sat down with YouTube personalities Rhett McLaughlin and Charles "Link" Neal for an epic episode of Cookie Roulette. Lyllian, who is diagnosed with cystic fibrosis, loves to watch Rhett and Link in between her doctors' appointments. So for Lyllian, it was a wish-come-true for her to finally meet these YouTube stars in person.

Josh's YouTube channel premiere with CaptainSparklez

Josh Collage

Last March, 12-year-old Josh of Grove City, PA, who is diagnosed with cystic fibrosis, was granted his one-true-wish to meet his all-time favorite YouTube personality, Jordan Maron aka CaptainSparklez. Josh and his family toured Jordan's studio, played a few games and Jordan even helped Josh launch his very own YouTube Channel called "I'm Just Joshing."

LaVar's Drum Duet with
Casey Cooper

New LaVar
For 13-year-old LaVar of Farell, PA, playing the drums is a great escape from his constant struggle with intractable epilepsy. When he's not laying out cool beats, LaVar enjoys watching his favorite YouTube personality Casey Cooper cover all the latest songs. Last April, LaVar was granted his wish to meet Casey in person at Pearl Studio in Nashville, TN. LaVar and Casey toured the Pearl Studio to see how drums are made and had a private jam session together. At the end of the day, LaVar was given a brand new drum set—it was a day he would never forget.
