Wish kid Anthony was the special guest of the Pittsburgh Steelers on Friday, November 1, when Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger presented a $30,000 donation to Make-A-Wish® President and CEO Judi Stone from the proceeds of his Foundation's summer golf event. This is his second year donating to Make-A-Wish. On the Steelers website, Roethlisberger said that hearing about the kids who had their wishes granted last year as a result of his donation made supporting Make-A-Wish even more special.
"I got a packet and an envelope with a bunch of letters in it from Make-A-Wish kids whose wishes got granted,” said Roethlisberger on the Steelers website. “I could just see the smile on their faces as I was reading the letters. It means so much to me and my family and the foundation to be able to help out Make-A-Wish.”
In addition to being part of the check presentation, eight-year-old Anthony, who was granted his wish for a trip to Walt Disney World in April 2012, got to meet the Steelers team and received the jersey that Ben wore during the recent Oakland Raiders game.
