Make-A-Wish® Greater Pennsylvania and West Virginia recognizes Macy's as one of its biggest donors. Make-A-Wish® is a national beneficiary of the Macy’s Thanks For Sharing program, which raised $8.1 million for Make-A-Wish in 2014. Macy’s also supports Make-A-Wish through its annual Believe and Thank-A-Mom campaigns and enhances fashion and shopping wishes through makeovers, personal shoppers and other unique in-store experiences. Macy’s 2014 holiday campaigns raised $10.2 million. The company has donated more than $83 million since 2003.
Pittsburgh was chosen as one of the launch cities for the 2014 Believe campaign. Elvis the Penguin led students from Brightside Academy in a parade to begin the holiday letter writing campaign. And, for the fifth year in a row, Macy’s teamed up with Make-A-Wish to grant and reveal wishes across America on National Believe Day, which was December 12, 2014. On that special day, Macy’s revealed wishes across America, including ones in Pittsburgh and Erie, and doubled its donation to Make-A-Wish for each Santa letter dropped off at its store mailboxes.
We are proud of our long-standing relationship and thank Macy’s customers and associates for all that they do to help make wishes come true.
