To celebrate the holiday season and the spirit of giving, Macy’s teamed up with Make-A-Wish® for the ninth annual Believe campaign. Each year, the Macy’s Believe campaign invites kids of all ages to bring their stamped Santa letters to their local Macy’s store, or visit macys.com/believe to create and send a letter to Santa online. For every letter received, $1, up to $1 million, is donated to Make-A-Wish. On National Believe Day, which fell on December 9th this year, the donation was doubled.
Fifteen-year-old Samantha, of Baden, PA, who had been diagnosed with ganglioneuroblastoma, was invited to kick-off this year's National Believe Day campaign at Macy's Ross Park Mall. What Sam wasn't expecting is that her wish would be granted that day. The associates of Macy's and Make-A-Wish volunteers and staff banded together to give Sam a her most heart felt wish--a fabulous bedroom makeover!
Sam was amazed to see a replica of her bedroom was set-up in the Macy's store. The mock-up of her bedroom was colored in soft grays and rich shades of purple, which are Sam's favorite colors. Sam and her family could not believe their eyes, as they sat on the heather gray daybed and checked out all of the new furniture and decor.
